Hummingbirds!

This has been a spectacular late summer for Hummingbirds! I have now seen all 4 species of hummingbirds that regularly visit Colorado: Broad-tailed, Black-chinned, Rufous, and Calliope. They all have their own unique traits - such as the broad-tailed making a distinct whistle in flight, the black-chinned having a fully dark head, the rufous being exceptionally aggressive at feeders, and the calliope being the smallest bird in north America! They are all so beautiful in their own rights and I’m so happy I was able to add a Calliope and Rufous sighting to my lifer list this year. Browse the photos below for some fun moments! Good luck on your journeys to your wintering grounds little hummers!
