Rigby Chariot Racing

On January 10 and January 17, Don and I attended Chariot Racing at our local rodeo grounds in Rigby! We wouldn’t have known about it, had the city not posted a flier, and I’m so glad they did so we could attend! Chariot racing has been a big deal in the community for some time, but it seems like the event had a hiatus for a bit. In 2024, the community and participants started to bring the sport back and have been trying to raise awareness about it since. I hope you’ll read a bit more about it in an article from 2024 here. Chariot racing is an ancient sport from Roman times, and now has become a bit more of a family affair. It was fun to see the local community gather together to cheer on the teams. From the sounds of it, there will be another round of racing on February 7, leading up to the season finale championships sometime at the end of February or in March!
